Highly Rated Diesel Engine Repair
They did a very thorough inspection, and worked with us to determine the best fixes based on our budget and their urgency. They went out of their way to explain what each of these entails.
I would highly recommend them.
I’ve had some terrible experiences with mechanics. Working with Davina, Chris, Dane and the rest of the Supertech team has made up for the pain and torture I’ve experienced. My last good mechanic retired and having moved from the interior had me basically giving up hope of ever finding a shop that had the expertise, people skills and honesty that I once had many years ago.
A friend recommended Supertech and I’m glad he did.
Everyone at the shop is very thorough, extremely knowledgeable, friendly and takes pride in their work. When I picked up my truck I met Dane and he talked/walked me through the repairs that were done to my truck. He’s got a lot of knowledge and experience.
Overall, I was very impressed and my expectations were exceeded.
The folks at Supertech are the real deal. I wouldn’t hesitate to have them diagnose, repair or maintain your vehicle.
Support a small business and get the job done right.
Update: I just took my truck in for regular servicing and once again, Supertech did a great job. Got me in quickly, did what they said they were going to do and had me on my way in the time they said it would take. Very happy with the service.
Common Duramax Engine Problems
Glow Plugs: Keep an eye on glow plug issues, especially if you own a 2006 model, as both the 2006 LLY and LBZ models are known for their glow plug problems.
Injectors: Injector problems can lead to difficulties starting, rough idling, misfiring, and poor fuel efficiency. Particularly, some 2001 to 2004 Duramax models, like the LB7, are prone to injector issues.
Fuel System: Look out for starting problems, excessive smoke, poor fuel economy, and loss of engine power, as the Duramax’s fuel system can have issues related to fuel filter housing and air getting into the fuel lines.
Water Pump: Duramax engines may require water pump replacement around 80,000 miles, so watch for signs of overheating, coolant leaks, corrosion on the water pump, and whining noises from the front of the engine.
Fan Clutch: In models from 2005 and earlier, Duramax had problems with fan clutches, which can result in engine overheating.
Oil: Be aware of oil leaks into the turbocharger due to a faulty PCV design, which can lead to more serious engine problems.
